Foam strengths and failures

Foam captures fine particles well when new. After two weeks at 0.08 TH/s equivalent airflow, many foam pads compress toward the fan and increase whistle noise without improving filtration.

Mesh trade-offs

Rigid mesh passes more coarse dust but stays shape-stable. Pair it with a weekly brush-down and you often see lower core temperatures than with saturated foam.

Frame matters more than material

Hybrid approach
