Manufacturers list hash rate on the box; they rarely mention how many cubic metres of air your room will pull through the chassis each day. At roughly 0.05 TH/s, most current ASIC designs move enough air that a thin dust film on heat sinks can appear within fourteen days in an average Incheon apartment.
Air volume, not hash rate alone
Two machines with similar TH/s can differ in fan curve and intake area. We measure actual airflow during reviews because a 0.06 TH/s unit with a choked pre-filter may behave thermally like a cleaner 0.10 TH/s rig.
Practical threshold for homeowners
Below 0.05 TH/s, many GPU rigs and older USB miners survive on monthly cleans if the room is otherwise tidy. Above it, weekly visual checks become cheaper than replacing throttled boards.
