Why a schedule beats guesswork
Once hash rate climbs past 0.05 TH/s, fans run fast enough that household dust becomes a thermal issue within weeks. Guessing when to clean leads to either wasted effort or throttled boards. Our schedules align tasks with how your room actually behaves through the year.
Winter (November–February)
Heating dries air but stirs carpet dust. Weekly visual check of intake mesh; brush loose dust every 10–14 days. Replace rigid pre-filters monthly if you heat with floor systems near the rack.
Yellow-dust season (March–May)
Run external pre-filters one mesh grade finer. Daily glance at intake colour during high-alert days. Deep clean heat-sink gaps every 7–10 days on 0.08 TH/s+ units.
Summer humidity (June–August)
Dust clumps with moisture. Avoid compressed air alone—brush first. Check drain paths on dehumidifiers sharing the room. Bi-weekly panel inspection for corrosion near fan mounts.
Autumn transition (September–October)
Open windows less; note if pollen loads change your mesh colour. Good time to book a bench or on-site review before heating restarts.
Weekly tasks (all seasons)
- Photograph intake mesh under the same light so you can compare week to week
- Listen for fan pitch change at idle—a common early sign of choked airflow
- Empty external pre-filter trays before they overflow onto floor dust
Monthly tasks
- Remove user-accessible panels and vacuum with a soft brush attachment
- Log hash rate at the same pool and power limit for trend comparison
- Inspect door and window seals if the rig sits in a garage or balcony room
When to call us
If temperatures rise more than 8°C at the same ambient room temp compared to your baseline log, or if you see metallic dust from nearby construction, book an on-site assessment rather than waiting for the seasonal slot.
